It's not just in front of the camera that Tough Times tries to make a difference - we're doing what we can behind the camera as well!
The show is created with the assistance of RMITV - a student community television group run out of RMIT University. Our relationship with RMITV means that on every episode of the show, new and different up-and-coming television production superstars are behind the scenes calling the shots!
We provide full training to all our crew - most of which have had limited of no television experience before! You never know, that person behind the camera on Tough Times might just end up running the show at Channel 7 or Channel 9 one day and we like to think we played a part in making that person's dream of working in TV come true! Plus they get some free training and experience, we get some volunteer crew members, and everyone wins!
So, if you see the occasional camera shake or the show doesn't seem to look and sound quite as polished as what you might see on other networks, know that it's probably because that person sitting in the directors chair is probably doing it for the first time - and hopefully, be having a ball whilst doing it!
If you are interested in helping out behind the scenes on Tough Times Never Last, your best bet is to contact RMITV and stay tuned to your email so you can hear about any upcoming studio sessions (oh and don't worry if you are not currently studying - you don't have to be a student to get involved in RMITV or Tough Times Never Last
